Every month, low-income seniors in Care and Share’s service space can obtain a meals field crammed with cheese, canned vegetables and fruit, cereal and different staples by a federally-funded program referred to as the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). The gadgets accessible within the meals packing containers have not modified in many years, however the USDA is convening a CSFP Meals Bundle Assessment Workgroup in early 2017. We’re so excited that Denise Meredith, our USDA Applications Supervisor, was chosen to serve on this unique committee to assist get more healthy, extra fascinating meals to weak seniors!

Denise will journey to Virginia and Louisiana and take part in convention calls in 2017 to fulfill with different workgroup members and assist redesign the CSFP meals packing containers to higher serve seniors.
